Could you help us to help others?

Volunteer Form

Volunteering

We are run entirely by volunteers, and we are very grateful to those that are part of our small and friendly team already, we’re always looking for new helpers for a wide range of operational and managerial tasks.  Whatever your skills, you will have something to offer RDA – and it’s not just about horses and ponies – there are plenty of other jobs that need to get done and you’re bound to find a role that suits you. The majority of volunteering roles at RDA involve contact with horses: grooming and tacking up, leading and side-walking, mucking out etc. We also need help with other areas such as fundraising, publicity, accounts and general maintenance.

"Giving up a little bit of my time can make a huge difference to someone else's life, and it gives you a great feeling inside too..."

Benefits for you:
Learn new skills
Help to make a difference
Make new friends
Be part of a team
Enjoy the outdoors (and keep fit!)
Boost your CV

Specific training will be provided for all volunteers - so don't worry!

Young Leaders
Volunteers aged 13-25 can apply to be part of YELA (Young Equestrian Leaders Award)
Many RDA Groups accept volunteers from 12 years of age and there’s lots on offer for younger volunteers.
If you are a member of The Pony Club, you can start volunteering as part of your Pony Club Achievement Badge. RDA volunteering can help towards your Duke of Edinburgh Awards at all levels and you can even do residential volunteering as part of an RDA holiday. RDA volunteering can fit into your school’s PSR curriculum.
You can find more information about YELA and apply at their website here: www.yela.org.uk/
